· Use CAD (SolidWorks) to create and/or modify designs with lean manufacturing principles and design for ease of manufacturing and customer satisfaction in mind.

· Capable of learning GD&T and how to conduct tolerance analysis studies to assure parts fit and function properly. Lead and participate in design and process reviews as required.

· Work with production personnel to dissect and solve design issues as well as implement cost reduction ideas regarding company products.

· Prepare technical documents such as test procedures, technical reports, component manuals, etc.

· Present product proposals to marketing, sales and management as required.

CMM PROGRAMMER

Reads and interprets blueprints to determine if parts are within tolerances. Interprets Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances and verifies machined parts conform to those requirements. Creates CMM programs using Verisurf CMM programming software. Provides support to manufacturing and management as needed. Inspects parts using other metrology tools as needed. Reports to the quality manager and assists with other quality engineering tasks as needed.

Supports First Piece, In-Process, Final, and Receiving Inspections.
Reads blueprints or specifications to determine conformance to dimensions and tolerances.

Measures angular dimensions, radii, height, thickness, location, thread lead, and other specifications.
Inspects first run parts and assemblies.
