How much velocity do I give up at 12.5″?
Less than you’d think. The Creedmoor case family is efficient in short barrels — expect roughly 150–250 fps off a 22″ depending on load. In our testing, we are seeing consistent numbers of 2,780 to 2,810 FPS using our available DirtNap Ammunition.
How does the NFA Process Work?
Same Form 4 (or Form 1) paperwork through your dealer, but as of January 2026 the tax stamp costs $0. The ATF has also proposed rules that would drop the maker’s-mark engraving requirement and eliminate advance Form 5320.20 filing for interstate travel — both are still in the comment period and not yet in effect, so plan around current requirements until they’re finalized. Your dealer walks you through it, and with the eForms pipeline most approvals are faster than ever.
